Sacred Heart is proud to present an evening of new original music featuring the up and coming folk/pop band Northern Howl, critical faves Caroline Smith and the Good Night Sleeps and a debut by The Nice Bears, a Duluth band featuring Marc Gartman and Kathy McTavish.
Northern Howl is collective effort of young Minnesota musicians playing catchy and pop flavored folk music featuring violins, trumpets, bells, guitars and keyboards. Their debut record, All That’s Under The Night’s Sky, has garnered critical acclaim in the Twin Cities music press.
Caroline Smith and the Good Night Sleeps feature Caroline Smith’s quirky and endearing vocals relating songs both catchy and bittersweet. Think punk inspired poetry and country story telling wrapped in pop/folky package. Their debut record, Backyard Tent Set, has been highly praised.
Opening the show will be The Nice Bears, the latest project by prolific songwriter/multi- instrumentalist Marc Gartman and featuring the cellist extraordinaire Kathy McTavish as well as bassist Matt Mobely and percussionist Bryan “Lefty” Johnson.
